It's an education project, not a laptop project

One Laptop Per Child has created the XO laptop and Sugar software, both embodying the Constructionist educational philisophy of teaching children to be able to learn outside school through collaborative discovery. Tim Foresman, Earth Treasury and Engineers Without Borders (EWB) Australia are discussing Free Software GIS projects with OLPC. Google, owner of Google Earth (formerly Keyhole) is a major sponsor of OLPC.
